I m 14dpo today. I got my BFP yesterday. I had a miscarriage 9 months ago and now I'm worried this will be a chemical as the lines aren't getting darker. Also my morning sample was lighter than my second sample so these are my SMU samples for yesterday and today.

Do you think I should hold much hope?

Try to remember these tests are not supposed to be quantitative, and making any interpretation about hormone levels using them is not going to be accurate. There is no requirement for them to be so, it’s not their purpose.

They are only able to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

At this point, I would absolutely hold hope. Those tests tell you that you are pregnant- congratulations!

I think there could a number of reasons such as your ovulation was much later than expected. IMO would see a GP and get a BT explaining your reasons for feeling anxious. I've had similar lines, and one is 2 years old, and others have been m/cs. like PPs said the strength of the line does not necessarily indicate its a non viable pregnancy. you could have drunk a huge amount of water night before and diluted the wee for next day.

Don't read too much into line strength, see GP. Wishing you all the best :)

I used to go with the “tests aren’t supposed to be quantitative” thing, but in my experience (5 pregnancies, 2.5 babies and 2 chemicals/early miscarriages) they will show a progression. However, they won’t necessarily show a progression in 12-24 hours. Head off to the GP for some bloods, or wait a couple of days to test again. Your lines are proper solid lines, but light so you should see a much darker line in 48 hours. I’ll cross my fingers for you!
